The five-piece Alternative-Rock band The Airborne Toxic Event, named after a section of the book White Noise by Don DeLillo, began in 2006 in the small sub-city of Los Feliz in Los Angeles, California USA, with just one member, singer+guitarist Mikel Jollett. He first met up with drummer Daren Taylor and the pair were soon joined by guitarist Steven Chen, keyboardist+violinist Anna Bulbrook and bassist Noah Harmon.

The group played their first show in L.A. less than one month after it was fully formed and in less than two years, the band has earned tons of positive attention from music lovers and press alike; a handful of East Coast shows followed including two opening slots for The Fratellis.
"Sometime Around Midnight" is the band's first single from its self-titled debut album which arrives in stores August 5, 2008, from Majordomo Records.
