Alexisonfire formed in late 2001 in St. Catharines, Ontario CANADA, as
the result of a three band break-up five friends; George Pettit on vocals,
Dallas Green on guitar+vocals, Wade MacNeil also on guitar+vocals, Chris
Steele on bass and Jesse Ingelevics on drums, came together to create
an impressive blend of turbulent Rock and explosive dynamics with intricate
guitar melodies and impressed the critics with their sour-sweet approach
to performance and writing.
The quintet released their first album in September 2002 on Toronto-based
Distort Entertainment. During the year that followed the release of the
self-titled debut album, Alexisonfire shot into the spotlight and the
CD was reasonably successful, with a gold certification in Canada.
"Watch Out!", the group's sophomore effort peaked at #6 on the
Top Canadian Albums chart and hit #21 on the U.S. Independent chart.
After replacing Ingelevics with drummer Jordan Hastings, Alexisonfire
resurfaced in August 2006 with "Crisis", a stunning effort which
debuted at #1 in Canada and brought them into The Billboard 200 chart
for the first time; "This Could Be Anywhere In The World" was
the lead track taken from the band's third full-length disc.
In June 2009 Alexisonfire released their new album, "Old Crows /
Young Cardinals" through Dine Alone Records; the 11-song set includes
the Canadian top 50 hit single "Young Cardinals".
