Pop-Rock Alternative-Rock band formed in 1983 in San Francisco, California
USA, fronted by singer+guitarist Mark Eitzel who started the band with
guitarist Vudi born Mark Pankler, bassist Danny Pearson, keyboardist Brad
Johnson and drummer Matthew Norelli.
The group debuted in 1985 with "The Restless Stranger"; its
follow-up "Engine" was released two years later.
With their third album, 1988's "California", produced by Tom
Mallon that also joined as a new drummer, American Music Club received
much attention in Europe where released the next year "United Kingdom"
with the newcomers Mike Simms on drums and Bruce Kaphan on keys.
The group re-emerged in 1991 issuing "Everclear" greatly appreciated
and acclaimed by critics and music lovers.
Another two years passed before the band returned to action, this time
with drummer Tim Mooney, American Music Club released 1993's "Mercury"
and "San Francisco" in October 1994, both the albums failed
to chart and the band eventually dissolved.
In late 2003 the group reunited to record their first studio album in
ten years, "Love Songs For Patriots", a 13-track set which was
released in October approximately one year later.
American Music Club, now as a four-piece line-up with Eitzel, Vudi, bassist
Sean Hoffman and drummer Steve Didelot, prepares to release their new
album, "The Golden Age".
