BT

BT is a one-man act formed in 1992 by Brian Transeau, one of the few individual musicians in electronic music that's truly creative; born and raised in Washington, D.C. USA, Transeau's sense of individualism also inspired his scholastic decisions; he dropped out of the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston in 1990, returned to the D.C. area and started up Deep Dish Records in 1992 with long-time high school friend Ali 'Dubfire' Shirazinia.

Within the year, BT's first releases, "A Moment Of Truth" and "Relativity", achieved considerable success in clubs from London to Tokyo and New York.
His debut full-length album, "Ima", released in late 1996, gave him another U.K. club hit single with "Embrace The Future".
BT delivered a second album, "ESCM", in September 1997; meanwhile, he began to gain a reputation as the pioneer of Trance music and as a result he was asked to remix a string of tracks for such notables as Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos, Madonna and Seal.
Transeau has also gained the reputation as a talented film score composer; he scored movies such as the blockbuster hit "The Fast And The Furious", Doug Liman's "Go", "Under Suspicion", starring Morgan Freeman and Gene Hackman.
June 2000 saw the release of BT's third album, "Movement In Still Life"; it reached the top 10 of the Billboard Heatseekers chart and became his first Billboard's Top 200 Sales entry at #166; written and recorded in collaboration with former Soul Coughing frontman Mike Doughty, the first single off the CD, "Never Gonna Come Back Down", peaked at #16 on The Modern Rock Tracks chart.
"Emotional Technology" followed in August 2003, it included the single "Somnambulist", which scraped the lower reaches of The Billboard Hot 100.
