Born 12 May 1950, in Boston, Massachusetts USA, this Hard-Rock singer+guitarist began his music career in the second half of the '70s with a band called Piper, the group broke-up in 1979, by this point Squier signed a solo contract with Capitol Records which released, one year later, his debut solo effort entitled "The Tale Of The Tape".

In 1981, his second album, "Don't Say No", shot to #5 in U.S. Pop chart spawning a string of smash singles: "The Stroke" crashed into the top 20 of the Official U.S. Pop Singles chart and hit #3 on Mainstream Rock chart, "In The Dark" reached the #7 in the same chart, followed by two more top 40 hits: "Lonely Is The Night" and "My Kinda Lover"; he also achieved considerable success in Europe where toured with Whitesnake.
The next year saw Squier, returned in the top 5 of the U.S. Pop Albums chart with "Emotions In Motion", the record generated the #1 Mainstream Rock single "Everybody Wants You" plus "Learn How To Live" and the title-track which entered the top 20 of the Billboard Magazine's Rock chart, finally "She's A Runner" became a moderate hit on rock-oriented radio.
1984's "Signs Of Life" peaked at #11 on The Billboard Top 200 chart, highlighted by his best charting single on The Billboard Hot 100: "Rock Me Tonite", the track peaked at the #15; "All Night Long" and "Eye On You" reached the #10 and #29 spots respectively on The Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.
The next release, "Enough Is Enough", which arrived in 1986, didn't rise higher than #134 on The Billboard Top 200 Albums list, spawning two Mainstream Rock top 30 hits: "Love Is The Hero" and "Shot O' Love".
After a three years break he resurfaced with "Hear & Now", the record peaked at #64 in U.S. Albums chart highlighted by the single "Don't Say You Love Me" which climbed into the top 5 of the Active Rock chart plus the #20 "Tied Up" and the #38 "Don't Let Me Go".
Another two years passed before Squier returned with "Creatures Of Habit", despite the album missed the top 100 of the U.S. chart, it generated "She Goes Down" which peaked at #4 on The Mainstream Rock Tracks chart plus the minor hit "Facts Of Life".
1993's "Tell The Truth" missed the charts entirely and included only one Mainstream Rock charting single, "Angry".
By the end of the decade, Billy Squier re-emerged with "Happy Blue", an album that celebrated his long-standing love for the blues.
