The Alternative-Metal act Blindside was formed in 1994, in Stockholm,
SWEDEN, by vocalist Christian Lindskog, guitarist Simon Grenehed, bassist
Tomas Naslund and drummer Marcus Dahlström. Growing up in the Swedish
Christian heavy-Rock scene as Underfree, the quartet eventually changed
their name to Blindside in 1996.
The band released their self-titled debut album, a year later, on the
American label Tooth & Nail.
In early 2000 was released the band's second effort, "A Thought Crushed
My Mind"; the record failed to chart and marked the end of the group's
contract with Tooth & Nail Records.
During 2002 Blindside signed with Elektra Records who issued their third
LP, "Silence", the band supported it with an ambitious round
of touring, including dates with the like-minded NuMetal unit P.O.D.,
as well as opening for such acclaimed acts as Hoobastank
and Disturbed; the record eventually
made a mid-chart appearance on The Billboard 200 list on the back of the
first single "Pitiful", which peaked at #18 on The Mainstream
Rock chart and their second Active Rock top 40 hit, "Sleepwalking".
Nearly one and a half years later they delivered their fourth album, "About
A Burning Fire"; it featured a guest appearance from Billy
Corgan and reached the #39 slot on The Billboard Top 200 chart.
August 2005 has seen the release of Blindside's new studio album, "The
Great Depression", the set includes the single track "Fell In
Love With The Game".
