The Alternative-Rock act Bloodhound Gang formed in the early '90s in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA, where frontman Jimmy Pop and guitarist
Lüpüs Thünder released various demos and 1994's independent
EP "Dingleberry Haze" .
Embracing a variety of styles from Rap to Punk, the duo created enough
buzz to attract the attention of Columbia Records who released their debut
full-length disc, "Use Your Fingers" in July 1995, but unfortunately
they were soon dropped from the label.
After recruiting bassist Evil Jared Hasselhoff, DJ Q-Ball and drummer
Spanky G, the group recorded "One Fierce Beer Coaster" and eventually
hooked up with Geffen, who released their second album in late 1996; it
included the single "Fire Water Burn" which crashed into The
Modern Rock chart peaking at #18 and helped send the album into the top
3 of the Billboard's Heatseekers chart and peaked at a respectable #57
on The Billboard 200 Sales list.
Jimmy Pop and his crew returned to the chart with "Hooray For Boobies"
in the spring of 2000, their third album rose to #14 on The Billboard
200 and climbed into the top 10 of the Canadian Albums chart spawning
the smash hit "The Bad Touch", this single shot to #6 on The
Modern Rock list, made a mid-chart appearance on The Billboard Hot 100
and barley missed the top 10 in Canada; the group also scored a sizable
hit with "The Ballad Of Chasey Lain", a single that broke into
the top 20 of the Official U.K. chart.
After full five years, in September 2005, Bloodhound Gang dropped its
new album titled "Hefty Fine", the set features the single "No
Hard Feelings".
