The Alternative-Metal band Bullet For My Valentine were formed from the
ashes of an earlier group called Jeff Killed John, after their original
bassist decided to quit; the new band, which consists of vocalist+guitarist
Matthew Tuck, guitarist Michael Padget, bass player Jason James and drummer
Michael Thomas, began in 2003 in Bridgend, WALES.
They played a London showcase a year later, which piqued the interest
of a few major labels and in October 2004 the band put their mark on a
five album deal with Sony, with a U.K. licensing deal with Visible Noise,
home to Lostprophets; the next month
Bullet For My Valentine released their debut disc, a self-titled 5-song
CD.
The Welsh modern-metallers' full-length debut album, "The Poison",
which has sold over a million copies worldwide, arrived in October 2005
in Europe and was issued on Trustkill early the following year in the
U.S. where the CD crawled into The Billboard 200 chart backed by the Active
Rock radio hit, "Tears Don't Fall".
In January 2008, Bullet For My Valentine released its sophomore effort,
"Scream Aim Fire", whose title-track hit the top 20 of The Hot
Mainstream Rock chart.
