Heavy Rock supergroup Chickenfoot was started by former Van
Halen frontman Sammy Hagar in 2007
with a stellar line-up that included guitar god Joe Satriani, ex-Van
Halen bass virtuoso Michael Anthony and Chad Smith drummer for The
Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The members of Chickenfoot admit that the band came together almost by
accident, a result of jams held at Hagar's club, Cabo Wabo Cantina, in
Cabo San Lucas, MEXICO.
In June 2009 Chickenfoot came out with their critically acclaimed eponymous
debut album rocketing up to #4 on The Billboard 200 and #5 on the Top
Canadian Albums charts. The first single off the CD, "Oh Yeah",
quickly achieved airplay on some major Album Rock tastemaker stations
and eventually fell just shy of reaching the top 20 of the Billboard's
Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks.
