This Latin Hip-Hop band formed in the late '80s in Los Angeles, California USA, the group were initially formed around the trio of DJ Muggs, born Larry Muggerud, vocalists B-Real, real name Louis Freeze and Sen Dog born Senen Reyes.

Their self-titled debut album came out in 1991 and broke into the top 40 of The Billboard 200 chart, the following year the band performed on the second Lollapalooza tour exposing them to a whole new Alternative-Rock audience.
1993's "Black Sunday" soared to the top of The Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and eventually going triple platinum, its single, "Insane In The Brain", received strong airplay climbing into the top 20 of The Billboard Hot 100.
A year later the line-up was expanded to include pecussionist Eric Bobo; in October 1995 the quartet released "Cypress Hill III: Temples Of Boom", which peaked at #3 in U.S. Albums chart, selling one million copies.
Following a temporary split, Cypress Hill resurfaced in autumn of 1998 with "IV", the set reached the #11 spot on The Billboard Top 200 Albums list.
One and a half year later the band unleashed the double-disc "Skull & Bones", it included their first Modern Rock top 20 hit, "(Rock) Superstar", which signalled the more Rock-oriented direction on the album; "Skull & Bones" peaked at #3 and #5 respectively in Canada and in U.S. Albums charts and obtained platinum certification.
A year later the quartet issued "Stoned Raiders", but it didn't gain the same popularity compared to the group's previous albums stalling at #64 on The Billboard 200 list.
Cypress Hill's seventh album, "Till Death Do Us Part", was released in the spring of 2004, reaching the #21 in U.S. Top 200 chart; its main single, "What's Your Number?", made top 30 on The Modern Rock chart.
