The Toronto, Ontario CANADA outfit Danko Jones began life in 1996 by a guy, vocalist+guitarist Danko Jones, who developed an unusual mixture of Hard-Rock, Grunge and Funk; the band's line-up comprises of Jones, bassist John 'JC' Calabrese and drummer Damon Richardson, the latter joined around the turn of the century.

Originally they didn't even want to release an album opting to have the band's live reputation spread via word of mouth. Eventually, the trio reneged and put out an eponymous 5-track EP on Sonic Unyon records in 1998.
The following year they released the self-produced "My Love Is Bold" EP and achieved national exposure with the single "Bounce".
During 2001 was released "I'm Alive And On Fire", a full-length disc that collected all of the material released to date.
"Born A Lion", the first trio album of all-new songs, arrived in mid-2002 and included two singles: the Billboard's Mainstream Rock top 40 hit "Lovercall" and "Sound Of Love"; the record received positive reviews in their native Canada and especially in Europe.
Danko Jones issued its second proper album, "We Sweat Blood", in October 2003 on Bad Taste label, it spawned several singles "Living In The City", "Forget My Name", "Dance" and "I Want You", the latter of which broke into the Sweden Top 40 chart.
Over the next two years, the band toured throughout Europe, Australia and finally landed a contract with Razor & Tie for a U.S. release of "We Sweat Blood".
"Sleep Is The Enemy" followed in early 2006, the formula for both these albums has been pretty consistent: fast power chords with a distorted bass echoing the guitar, loud, driving drums and vocals that fluctuate from a low growl to a mellifluous croon to a full-out scream; the trio's third LP included their second U.S. Hot Mainstream Rock top 40 hit, "First Date".

In late February, early March 2008, Danko Jones have returned with their brand new album "Never Too Loud". The disc comprises 11 new songs recorded at Studio 606 in Los Angeles with Grammy Award winning producer Nick Raskulinecz.
