Formed in Manchester ENGLAND, during the early '90s by bassist+vocalist
Jimi Goodwin, guitarist Jez Williams and twin Andy Williams on drums the
band was originally called Sub Sub, in 1993 the guys scored a big hit
in their homeland with the House-oriented song "Ain't No Love (Ain't
No Use)", they subsequently collaborated with Bernard Sumner from
New Order; the trio came back together
in 1998 and renamed themselves Doves, releasing a 3-track EP titled "Cedar".
Followed two more Alternative-Rock EPs and in October 2000 was released
their debut full-length disc, "Lost Souls", which included the
single "Catch The Sun".
Doves returned in the spring of 2002 with its second LP, "The Last
Broadcast", it peaked at #1 on the Official U.K. Albums chart and
cracked The Billboard Top 200 in the U.S. spawning three British top 30
hits including the #3 "There Goes The Fear", "Pounding"
and "Caught By The River".
2005 saw the band release its third album, "Some Cities", which
included the single "Black And White Town".
