This Pop-Rock Manchester, ENGLAND-based quintet, came together in the
early '90s with vocalist Guy Garvey, guitarist Mark Potter, keyboard player

They began performing as Soft; in 1997 the five-piece outfit re-named
themselves Elbow crafting a more modern-Rock sound, recorded two independent
EPs and eventually signed with V2 Records in late 2000.
The band released their debut full-length album, "Asleep In The Back",
in May 2001, the record included their first British charting single,
"Red", plus the title-track which cracked the top 20 of The
U.K. National Singles chart.
Elbow returned two years later with its second effort, "Cast Of Thousands";
it peaked at #7 on the U.K. Albums chart and scraped the bottom of The
Billboard Top 200 Stateside, the record generated "Fallen Angel",
which reached the #16 in U.K. Singles chart and the minor hit "Not
A Job".
