This Alternative-Rock Pop-Rock Austin, Texas USA-based trio was formed
in mid-'90s by singer+guitarist Miles Zuniga, bassist Tony Scalzo and
drummer Joe Shuffield.
The band, after signed a deal with Hollywood Records, recorded their
debut full-length album, "Make Your Mama Proud", in the spring
of 1996, unfortunately it failed to chart but created a considerable buzz
in their native Austin.
Almost exactly two years later, the threesome released their breakthrough
LP, "All The Pain Money Can Buy", the second effort climbed
into the top 30 of The Billboard Top 200 chart and became a top 20 hit
in Canadian Albums chart spawning three excellent singles: "The Way"
which reached the #1 on The Modern Rock chart, "Fire Escape"
hit #13 in the same chart and "Out Of My Head" ranked in the
top 20 of The Billboard Hot 100, the album eventually was certified platinum
for sales of a million copies.
The trio returned in September of 2000 with "The Harsh Light Of Day",
the record barely entered the top 100 in U.S. Albums chart achieving modest
commercial success; only one single, "You're An Ocean", enjoyed
a Adult Contemporary chart hit.
Fastball resurfaced in mid-2004 with their fourth album, "Keep Your
Wig On", the first on Rykodisc label.
