This Alternative-Rock Indie-Rock project started in 2002 in Seattle,
Washington USA, after the broke up of the band Sunny
Day Real Estate; three members singer+guitarist Jeremy Enigk, bassist
Nate Mendel and drummer William Goldsmith came together and began performing
as The Fire Theft, although Mendel and Goldsmith helped to form Foo
Fighters with Dave Grohl.
The trio issued their self-titled debut full-length album in September
of 2003 on Rykodisc, they supported the release with a co-headlining tour
with Laguardia, but the record barely
hit #198 on The Billboard 200 chart.
