The Pop-Rock one-man outfit Five For Fighting, was fouded in the second
half of the '90s by John Ondrasik who born and raised in the San Fernando
Valley, California USA. His mother, a piano teacher, gave him lessons
since in tender age, subsequently Ondrasik discovered guitar as he became
a teenager and finally began singing and writing music.
John Ondrasik started Five For Fighting releasing, in early 1997, the
debut album, "Message For Albert".
Three years later, under the umbrella of Sony Records, came out the breakthrough
LP, "America Town" which cracked The Billboard Top 200 chart
and spawned two Adult Top 40 hit singles: "Easy Tonight" and
"Superman (It's Not Easy)", the latter of which also grabbed
a #14 spot on The Billboard Hot 100; thanks to this sweet piano ballad,
"America Town" was certified platinum.
"The Battle For Everything", the long awaited third album arrived
in February of 2004, the CD reached the top 20 of The Billboard 200 chart
while the first single, the piano-driven Rock-ballad,"100 Years",
shot to #1 on the Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart and hit the top
30 of The Billboard Hot 100; it was followed by the minor hit, "The
Devil In The Wishing Well".
August 2006 saw the release of "Two Lights", a 10-track full-length
disc which hit #8 on The Billboard Top 200 Albums chart; it yielded the
top 40 hit "The Riddle" which peaked at #40 on The Billboard
Hot 100 and at #14 on The Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks; on the latter chart
the second single, "World", also hit the #14 position.
Five For Fighting have a new single out called "Chances" and
it's lifted from the upcoming album "Slice", due out on October
13, 2009.
