The Alternative-Metal act Flyleaf first got its start in 2002 when lead
vocalist Lacey Mosley, guitarists Sameer Bhattacharya and Jared Hartmann,
bassist Pat Seals and drummer James Culpepper began to cultivate a dedicated
cult following playing gigs in and around their hometown of Temple, Texas
USA; they also opened for NuMetal bands such as Evanescence,
Flickerstick, TRUSTcompany,
Saliva and Earshot.
The quintet signed for Octone Records who released a 6-track EP in mid-2005;
Flyleaf then locked themselves in a Los Angeles recording studio for two
months and finally emerged with their eponymously titled debut album in
late September 2005; the set features the powerful radio single "I'm
So Sick".
