The brilliant sunny Pop trio Hanson attempted to break into the music
industry around 1992, two years later they released their first independent
record and finally the brothers from Tulsa, Oklahoma USA, Clarke Isaac
on guitar+vocals, Jordan Taylor on vocals+keyboards and Zachary Walker
on drums were picked up by manager Chris Sabec, who landed them a contract
with Mercury Records.
In early spring of 1997, their debut single, "MMMBop", stormed
the charts all over the globe, hitting the #1 on The Billboard Hot 100
and in U.K. Official Pop Singles list, at that time Isaac, Taylor and
Zac were respectively 16, 14 an 11 years old; the band issued "Middle
Of Nowhere" in May, this album shot to #2 on The Billboard Top 200,
hit #4 in the Canadian Top Albums charts and went on to sell over 8 million
copies worldwide; the second single cut, "I Will Come To You"
reached the #9 spot on The Billboard Hot 100, followed the Adult Top 40
hit "Where's The Love" plus two Canadian top 10 hits, "Weird"
and "Thinking Of You".
Hanson ended the year with their Christmas LP, "Snowed In",
at #7 in U.S. Top 200 chart.
The brothers released in May 1998 a compilation of their early material,
"3 Car Garage: Indie Recordings 1995-1996", which rose to #6
slots on both the North-American Albums charts.
"This Time Around", the follow-up to their stunning debut arrived
in May of 2000, but the album stalled in the top 20 of The Billboard 200
chart and sales were lackluster, the title-track barely broke the top
20 of The Billboard Hot 100.
Hanson subsequently parted ways with Mercury and set up their own label,
3CG Records; their third album of all-new-material was finally released
in the spring 2004, it reached the #25 slot on American Billboard Top
200 chart.
