Kings Of Leon, a Nashville, Tennessee USA-based Alternative-Rock band,
were formed in 2000, by three brothers: lead singer+guitarist Caleb Followill,
bass player Jared Followill and drummer Nathan Followill plus their first
cousin, guitarist Matthew Followill.
The three brothers grew up on the road, in between Oklahoma City and
Memphis, travelling with their father who was a United Pentecostal evangelist.
By 2001 the band was ready to the Rock scene, they signed a deal with
RCA and released an EP entitled "Holy Roller Novocaine"; their
debut full-length album, "Youth & Young Manhood", followed
two years later, it cracked The Billboard Top 200 chart reaching #118
and earned the band major success in Britain, where the record hit #3
on the Official Albums chart; the main single, "Molly's Chambers",
broke into the top 30 of the U.K. Pop chart.
After 18 months of constant touring, the Southern rockers began working
on their second album, "Aha Shake Heartbreak", which was released
in Europe in November 2004; the record shot to #3 on the British Albums
chart and reached the #55 position on The Billboard 200 list upon its
U.S. release; the lead single, "The Bucket", barely missed the
top 20 of The Modern Rock Tracks and "Four Kicks" reached #32
on the U.K. Pop Singles chart.
In April 2007 Kings Of Leon released their third full-length album, "Because
Of The Times"; it includes two U.K. top 20 hit singles: "On
Call" and "Fans".
