Born Leon Drucker in Massapequa, Long Island USA, in 1961, to world-renowned classical musician parents, Lee Rocker grew up with music all around him. His father, Stanley, is a Grammy-nominated clarinetist with the New York Philharmonic and his mother, Naomi, teaches music at Hofstra University. So coming to a career in music was an easy choice for Rocker, whose family listened to Jazz, Blues and Rock & Roll while he was growing up; he began taking classical cello lessons at age 8 and later learned to play the electric bass.

By 1979 Rocker picked up the acoustic bass and with fellow Long Island schoolmates Brian Setzer and Slim Jim Phantom, he formed the Rockabilly trio Stray Cats. They played all over New York and eventually moved to London in the early '80s where they received a record contract and sold 7 million records worldwide, in 1984 however, the threesome decided to call it quits, at least for a while.
Rocker and drummer Slim Jim Phantom joined with guitarist Earl Slick to form the short-lived project Phantom, Rocker & Slick; the new trio released their self-titled debut in 1985 and scored a Mainstream Rock top 10 hit with "Men Without Shame".
Stray Cats reformed a year later to record the covers-heavy "Rock Therapy", but didn’t stay together very long.
Rocker solidified his well-earned respect in American music when he started to collaborate with his hero, the legendary pioneer of Rockabilly, Carl Perkins as well as with Dave Edmunds, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, John Fogerty and others.

In 1994, Lee Rocker launched his second post-Cats project, Big Blue, releasing "Lee Rocker's Big Blue" that July and "Atomic Boogie Hour" one year later.
September 1998 saw the release of "No Cats" and Rocker toured relentlessly, becoming one of the premiere Americana-Rockabilly roots artists in the States and Europe.
His 2003 CD "Bulletproof" found a large and appreciative audience, as he continued to perform all around the country. That same year, Stray Cats reunited for an 18-city tour of Europe, culminating in a filmed show at London's Brixton Academy.

Lee Rocker resurfaced in early 2006 with his new solo album, "Racin' The Devil", which includes the single "Lost On The Highway".
