The Alternative-Rock act Lifehouse was first assembled during the late '90s in Los Angeles, California USA, by lead singer + guitarist & songwriter Jason Wade; the first edition of the band included bassist Sergio Andrade and drummer Rick Woolstenhulme.

After signing for DreamWorks, Lifehouse released in October 2000 its first album, "No Name Face", which made an impressive debut on The Billboard Top 200 chart reaching the #6 spot on the back of the chart-rising track "Hanging By A Moment", this single soared to #1 on The Modern Rock chart and a few weeks later it peaked at #2 on The Billboard Hot 100 propelling the album to double platinum status in the United States and into the top 5 of the Canadian Albums list. The second single, "Sick Cycle Carousel", peaked at #21 on The Modern Rock chart and "Breathing" reached the top 20 of the Billboard's Adult Top 40 chart; in addition, "Hanging By A Moment" hit the #1 spot on the Billboard's 2001 year-end Hot 100 chart.

The group's second effort, "Stanley Climbfall", arrived in September 2002, the record debuted at #7 on the U.S. Top 200 chart but failed to match its predecessor's sales; the first single off of the CD was "Spin", it reached #25 on The Modern Rock chart and "Take Me Away" made barely a ripple on the Billboard Magazine's Adult Top 40 chart.

The group's original bassist, Sergio Andrade left in 2004. Bryce Soderberg, formerly of AM Radio, joined Wade and Woolstenhulme and after signing to Geffen Records, the trio issued its third album in spring 2005. The eponymously titled 12-track set included the single "You And Me", a giant hit ballad that set a record by spending more than 60 weeks on The Billboard Hot 100 peaking at #5 and pushing the album into the U.S. top 10 and past the platinum sales mark.

In June 2007 Lifehouse returned with their next album "Who We Are", it debuted at #14 on The Billboard 200 while the first single, "First Time", shot to #26 on The Billboard Hot 100 and its follow-up, "Whatever It Takes", reached the #33 position on the same chart. Both these singles hit #3 on the Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks and were ultimately joined in the top 10 by the final single, "Broken".

With "Smoke & Mirrors", the band's fifth studio album, Wade, Woolstenhulme, Soderberg and newly added guitarist Ben Carey are ready to reclaim their rightful place in the music business. The set will feature 12 tracks including the first single "Halfway Gone"; the track "Had Enough" will feature guest vocals from Chris Daughtry.
