First formed as The Getaway in 1997 by vocalist+guitarist Andrew Jordan,
guitarist Ryan DePaulo, bassist Ryan Kienle and drummer Aaron Stern, the
Punk-Pop band Matchbook Romance hails from Poughkeepsie, New York USA.
The quartet spent three years recording a group of demos that would attract
the attention of Epitaph president Brett Gurewitz who produced their first
real recording, the "West For Wishing" EP, in 2003. In September,
that same year, the band released its first full-length album, "Stories
And Alibis", it reached the #26 spot on The Billboard Top Independent
chart backed by the single "My Eyes Burn".
After non-stop gigging, Matchbook Romance returned in February 2006 with
their sophomore effort, "Voices"; "Monsters" is the
first single off the CD.
