Vancouver, CANADA Alternative-Rock combo Moist was formed in the fall
of 1992 by vocalist David Usher, guitarist Mark Makowy, keyboardist Kevin
Young, bassist Jeff Pearce and drummer Paul Wilcox.
The group self-released a 9-track cassette and toured across the country
several times earning positive response from critics and public alike;
in October 1993 Moist signed a deal with EMI Music Canada who released
their first full-length album, "Silver", early the next year,
the record went 4 x platinum in their homeland and the main single, "Push",
cracked the top 40 of the U.S. Mainstream Rock chart.
In late 1996 the band released their second album, "Creature",
which peaked at #10 on the Official Canadian Albums chart going four-times
platinum and its main track, "Gasoline", reached the #16 on
the Pop Singles chart; this album included two more singles: "Resurrection"
and "Leave It Alone".
Following a four-year hiatus and a solo album from frontman David Usher,
Moist resurfaced with their third effort, "Mercedes Five And Dime";
the record was released in June 2000 and rose to #7 in Canada, it spawned
three singles: the slow ballad with melancholic undertones "Breathe",
"Underground" and "Comes And Goes".
