My Chemical Romance is one of the most successful Alternative-Rock Emo outfit of the new millennium; the band was founded in 2000 by singer Gerard Way and drummer Matt Pelissier in their hometown of Newark, New Jersey USA; with the addition of Gerard's brother, Mikey Way on bass, guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero, the band solidified into its initially form.

My Chemical Romance's debut album, "I Brought You My Bullets You Brought Me Your Love", was issued in May of 2002 on the independent label Eyeball Records.
The group spent the following two years trekking around the United States numerous times and traveled to Europe to do a string of dates in England, Germany, Holland and Spain, supporting bands such as The Used, Taking Back Sunday and Story Of The Year.

Their sophomore effort, "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge", was released on Reprise Records in June 2004; Bob Bryar took over from original drummer Matt Pelissier that same year. The band's second album hit #1 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart and peaked at #28 on The Billboard 200 spawning "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" which soared to #4 on The Modern Rock Tracks, "Helena" which reached the #11 spot on the same chart and one more Modern Rock top 10 hit with "The Ghost Of You". All of these three singles reached the U.K. chart in the top 20 positions, with the exception of "The Ghost Of You" which topped out at #27.

October 2006 saw My Chemical Romance release "The Black Parade"; the album broke fast with three singles becoming Hot Modern Rock top 20 smash: "Welcome To The Black Parade" hit #1, "Famous Last Words" rose to #4 and "Teenagers" reached #13; in U.S. the album itself shot to #2 on The Billboard 200 and went certified platinum. "The Black Parade" was a huge success around the world, in U.K. and Canada peaked at #2, in Australia hit #3 and entered the top 10 in almost every European country. Following its strong debut at the American alt-Rock radio, the lead single, "Welcome To The Black Parade", grabbed a #9 spot on The Billboard Hot 100 and crested at #1 in Great Britain where both "Famous Last Words" and "Teenagers" entered the top 10 and the European single "I Don't Love You" made it into the top 20.

The New Jersey emo-rockers returned in the spring of 2009 with a song featured on the soundtrack of the movie "Watchmen": their rendition of Bob Dylan's "Desolation Row" which quickly catapulted into the top 20 of The Hot Modern Rock chart.

In March 2010 My Chemical Romance and Bob Bryar parted ways, the announcement was made on the group's WebSite. The band issued their fourth album, "Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys", in November, that same year. The disc furiously penetrated the top 10 of The Billboard 200 and two singles, "Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)" and "Sing", quickly catapulted into the top 10 of The Alternative Songs chart with the latter falling just one place short of #1 and also peaking at #4 on Billboard's Rock Songs list. In addition, the album reached the top 20 charts in several countries around the world.
