The Prodigy

This high-octane Electro-Rock outfit was formed in the late '80s in Braintree, Essex ENGLAND, by producer+songwriter Liam Howlett, vocalist Keith Flint, dancer Leeroy Thornhill and rap+vocalist Keetie 'Maxim' Palmer.

The Prodigy released its first single, "Charly", in the summer of 1991; the group's debut full-length album, "Experience", was issued a year later, the record included an endless series of British charting singles such as "Everybody In The Place", "Fire" and "Out Of Space".
Their strong songs and powerful live shows created a large following in the rest of Europe and the group's second effort, "Music For The Jilted Generation", which arrived in July 1994, shot to #1 in the U.K. Official Albums chart, the record generated two hit singles: "Voodoo People" and "Poison"; the band then embarked on an extensive tour throughout Europe, Australia and America where the album cracked The Billboard Top 200 chart.
In the spring of 1996 the foursome released the commercial breakthrough single "Firestarter", which peaked at #1 in British chart and in half a dozen European countries; two more successful singles, "Breathe" and "Smack My Bitch Up", prefaced the explosive third album, "The Fat Of The Land", the record reached the #1 on The Billboard Top 200, in Canada, in England and in almost twenty more countries charts, selling more than 7 million copies worldwide within a year; eventually "Breathe" and "Firestarter" broke into the Modern Rock Tracks chart reaching respectively the #18 and #24 spots.
The quartet returned with 1999's "The Dirtchamber Sessions, Vol. 1", a 50-track mix-album helmed by Howlett.
Two years later Leeroy Thornhill left the group which released in the summer of 2002 the single "Baby's Got A Temper", it peaked at #5 in the Canadian chart.
In September 2004, The Prodigy resurfaced with "Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned", Liam Howlett announced that usual bandmembers Keith Flint and Maxim weren't on the band's new album, which reached the #62 in U.S. Top 200 chart.
