This Industrial Alternative-Metal group sprang to life in 1994 in East-Berlin, GERMANY, comprising vocalist Till Lindemann, guitarists Richard Kruspe and Paul Landers, keyboardist Flake Lorenz, bassist Oliver Riedel and drummer Christoph Schneider. Rammstein recorded its debut full-length disc, "Herzeleid", in Stockholm and released it in September 1995; soon the sextet had developed a considerable following through their energetic live performances and eventually the band's first album hit the top 10 in Germany. Two years later their sophomore LP, "Sehnsucht", shot to #1 on the German Albums chart and before the year was out the band played two gigs in New York as well as an inaugural U.S. tour; the album's title-track hit the top 20 of the Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart and helped boost "Sehnsucht" to #45 on The Billboard 200 Albums list. The German nu-metallers continued to tour extensively playing big venues with Family Values, alongside other bands such as Korn, Orgy and Limp Bizkit as well as North-American tour with Soulfly and in August 1999 they released the concert album "Live Aus Berlin" which was shot at Wuhlheide Berlin on August 22 and 23, 1998, the set went straight to #1 in Germany. "Mutter", Rammstein's third studio record, appeared in spring 2001 and placed them once again at the top of the German Albums chart; it also entered the U.S. Billboard Top 200 at #77 and the Top Canadian Albums chart at #14. Preceded by the single "Mein Teil", a track inspired by notorious internet cannibal Armin Meiwes, "Reise, Reise", the group's fourth album was released in September 2004 to generally positive reviews and increased sales, the record peaked at #1 in Germany, Finland and Switzerland, hit the top 3 in Sweden, Holland and France, reached the #19 position in Australia and #61 in the U.S. proving that the German language can transfer itself onto the international audiences. October 2005 saw the Industrial crew release their fifth studio record, "Rosenrot"; it became a major success all over Europe, topping the charts in several countries and spawning three hit singles with "Benzin", the title-track and "Mann Gegen Mann". In America the album peaked at #47 on The Billboard Top 200. Rammstein has set "Liebe Ist Für Alle Da" as the title of its new album, due in Germany on October 16, 2009. The band's first new offering in four years contains 11 songs including the single "Pussy".
