Comprising of vocalist + bassist Sharin Foo and guitarist + vocalist Sune Rose Wagner, the Alternative-Rock act The Raveonettes formed up in Copenhagen, DENMARK, in the late '90s. In the summer of 2002, the duo released its inaugural mini-album, "Whip It On", which was named Best Rock Album of the Year at the Danish Music Awards and later they landed the #19 spot on the U.S. Top Independent chart. Relocating to New York City and working with Blondie producer Richard Gottehrer, they planned to release their first full-length disc called "Chain Gang Of Love"; the album was issued by Columbia Records in September 2003 debuting at #2 on the Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart and at #123 on The Billboard 200. In Europe the main single, "That Great Love Sound", hit the top 40 in U.K. and "Heartbreak Stroll" became a top 3 smash in their native Denmark. The Raveonettes returned in May 2005 with its second album, "Pretty In Black", the 13-song set found Sharin Foo leaving her bass duties behind and yielding them to new member Anders Christensen. The lead single, "Love In A Trashcan" was a worldwide hit reaching #26 in U.K. and peaking at #8 on the U.S. Dance Music/Club Play Singles chart. The album itself would hit #3 in Denmark but failed to rise above #152 on the American Billboard 200 chart. In November 2007 The Raveonettes, dropped from Columbia, released their next album "Lust Lust Lust", through Vice Records. Although first single, the surf-guitar tune "Dead Sound", missed the charts completely, the CD was their U.S. highest-charting album to date, debuting at #108 on The Billboard 200. The Danish duo fourth album, "In And Out Of Control", has an October 6, 2009, release date.
