Alternative-Rock act formed in 1992 at the College of William and Mary
in Virginia, USA, by singer+guitarist Jason Ross, guitarist Jason Pollock,
bassist Casey Daniel and drummer Giti Khalsa. The quartet began playing
live shows in the Virginia and Florida regions, increasing their popularity
and recorded an independent album titled "Churn", in summer
of 1995 the group re-recorded the disc at Morrisound Studios in Tampa
after signed for Mammoth label, their official debut full-length saw the
the light and was re-titled to "American Standard", the next
year it reached the #24 on The Billboard Top 200 Albums chart, the first
single "Cumbersome" broke into The Billboard Hot 100 and hit
the #1 on Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, "My My" and "Water's
Edge" peaked at #19 and #7 respectively in the same chart. Two years
later came out "Rock Crown", it was recorded in a French Quarter's
studio of New Orleans, unfortunately the two singles taken from the album,
"Lucky" and the title-track failed to enter the top 10 of the
Billboard's Rock charts. In 1998, 7m3, issued their third album which
contained the top 10 Active Rock hit single "Over Your Shoulder".
Three years later the group returned with a new guitarist Thomas Juliano,
in fact Pollock split from the other members, the new effort, "The
Economy Of Sound", generated two singles, the minor hit "Sleepwalking"
and "Wait" which climbed The Mainstream Rock chart peaking at
#7.
