Talk Talk was fronted by singer+songwriter Mark Hollis born in 1955 in Tottenham ENGLAND, he quit Sussex University and a degree course in child psychology in 1977 to relocate in London and started his first project the following year recording an independent single. Talk Talk was formed in 1981 with help of Mark younger brother, Ed Hollis that recruited drummer Lee Harris and bassist Paul Webb, the line-up was completed with the addition of keyboardist Simon Brenner. The Synth-Pop Pop-Rock quartet in 1982 released two singles, "Mirror Man" and "Talk Talk" that ranked in the top 30 of the U.S. Mainstream Rock chart, the records preceded their debut full-length, "The Party's Over" which went on to sell over 250.000 copies worldwide. The single "My Foolish Friend" was issued in early 1983, Hollis spent the rest of the year writing new material, in the meantime Brenner left the band and producer+multi instrumentalist Tim Friese-Green collaborated with the group's frontman at the second release; Friese remained officially outside the band. The group's second effort appeared in early 1984, "It's My Life" entered the U.K. Albums chart, few months later climbed The Billboard Top 200 chart, peaking at #42, the title-track reached #31 on The Billboard Hot 100. Two years later, "The Colour Of Spring", became the band's best-selling album, it peaked at #8 in U.K. Albums chart and reached the #58 on The Billboard 200 chart, helped by two singles: "Living In Another World" and "Life's What You Make It", the latter hit the #26 on The Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. When Talk Talk began the session for their fourth LP, 1988's "Spirit Of Eden", the promotional plan initially included no single, no video and no tour, it didn't gain the praise and popularity compared to the band's previous albums. The band issued in 1991 another album and except for the occasional greatest-hits and live albums, nothing more has been heard from Talk Talk.
