The Alternative-Rock Rap-Metal act Thousand Foot Krutch got its start
in Toronto, Ontario CANADA, in 1997; the line-up consisted of frontman
vocalist+guirarist Trevor McNevan, bassist Joel Bruyere and drummer Steve
Augustine.
That year the band recorded a demo-disc and played their first live
dates; along the way, the trio won several major awards in their native
country. In March of 2001 they issued their debut album, "Set It
Off", on the indie label Diamante and started gaining attention on
the Christian NuMetal scene, south of the border.
Signing with Seattle-based Tooth & Nail Records, in autumn of 2003,
the group released their second album, "Phenomenon", it entered
the top 20 of the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart and spawned the
Active Rock radio hit single "Rawkfist"; they toured steadily
in support of the record, eventually sharing the stage with today's leading
alt-Rock bands such as Jimmy Eat World,
Three Days Grace, The
Donnas and Switchfoot.
In 2005, the Toronto rockers were joined by guitarist Jamie Aplin and
in July the group released "The Art Of Breaking", which shot
to #2 on the Top Christian Albums chart and also hit #67 on The Billboard
200 Sales list on the strength of the smash song "Move", it
peaked at #16 on The Mainstream Rock Tracks. The second single off the
CD, "Absolute ", was another Mainstream Rock top 40 hit for
the band, early the next year.
Thousand Foot Krutch returned in September 2007 with its fourth album,
"The Flame In All Of Us", the 12-track set includes the single
"What Do We Know".
