The Transplants first started out as a recording project for guitarist+vocalist
Tim Armstrong of Rancid
and vocalist Rob Aston; the two began working together in December of
1999 in Los Angeles, California USA.
After a couple of years they decided to enlist the help of drummer Travis
Barker from Blink-182 and Boxcar
Racer to record an album; their highly original sound combines Punk-Rock
with Hip-Hop and Rap rhymes. "The Transplants" was issued in
October of 2002 on Epitaph Records, the album rose to the #1 slot on the
Billboard Top Heatseekers chart and peaked at #96 on Billboard's Top 200
list; although only one single, "Diamonds And Guns", charted
on The Modern Rock chart peaking at #16, the album included a number of
stunnig tracks such as "D.J. D.J.", "Tall Cans In The Air",
"Sad But True" and more.
The Transplants released its second full-length disc, "Haunted Cities",
in June 2005, the first single off of the album is "Gangsters And
Thugs".
