VAST is one-man Alternative-Rock Goth-Rock act: Jon Crosby; he grew up
in a town of 7.000 people, Humboldt County, California USA, at the age
of 13 started playing guitar and subsequently he moved to San Francisco
where began his career in the music industry, Crosby signed for Elektra
Records that released VAST debut album in 1998, the record, performed
entirely by Crosby, generated the single "Touched" which entered
the top 40 of both the Billboard's Rock charts plus "Pretty When
You Cry". For the follow-up, 2000's "Music For People",
Crosby recruited guitarist Justin Cotta, bassist Thomas Froggatt and drummer
Steve Clark, the second effort broke into The Billboard 200 Albums chart
and included "Free" which hit the #12 spot on Modern Rock Tracks
chart plus "I Don't Have Anything" that ranked in the top 40
in the same chart.
