Vampire Weekend are vocalist+guitarist Ezra Koenig, keyboardist+vocalist Rostam Batmanglij, bassist Chris Baio and drummer Christopher Tomson. They live in New York, USA and met while studying at Columbia University, forming the band in the spring of 2006; the quartet are gifted with the knack of making sweetly dense and warmly inflected Pop songs, rife with unrequited love affairs and bookish musings.

In June 2007 the New York Times wrote that “Even without an album, Vampire Weekend have made one of the most impressive debuts of the year”.
In January 2008 XL Recordings released Vampire Weekend's first full-length album; the disc made an impressive debut on The Billboard Top 200 chart at #17 and also broke into the top 30 in the U.K. spawning the Hot Modern Rock top 30 hit "A-Punk" as well as two British minor hit singles with their first single "Mansard Roof" and "Oxford Comma".
