The twin sisters Tegan and Sara Quin were on born September 20, 1980 in Calgary, Alberta CANADA; upon relocating to Vancouver the Quins played in various local high school Punk bands, but ultimately decided to pick up acoustic guitars. Tegan And Sara released their debut indie album, "Under Feet Like Ours", in 1999, at the age of 18; their unpredictable and fun stage show soon attracted a solid following that led to a spot on Sarah McLachlan's Lilith Fair, that same year. The Folk-Rock duo was signed to Vapor Records in spring 2000 and released
its second effort, "This Business Of Art", three months later,
in July. Tegan And Sara supported the release by touring with artists
such as Pretenders and Bryan
Adams. "So Jealous", their most successful album to date, followed two years later; it included the minor hit single "Speak Slow". Tegan And Sara entered the top 10 of the Canadian Albums chart for the first time with their 2007's effort "The Con"; their fifth full-length disc, which spawned the alt-Rock radio hit "Back In Your Head", also reached the #34 position on the U.S. Billboard 200 Albums chart. Two years later, "Sainthood" peaked at #4 on the Top Canadian Albums chart and at #21 on The Billboard 200 upon its October 2009 release. The first single off the CD, "Hell", became an Alternative Rock top 10 hit in Canada.
