• The Used have announced that they are about three weeks away from completing their upcoming new album which they hope to release sometime in the spring of 2009.

• U2's twelfth studio album, "No Line On The Horizon", will arrive March 3, 2009, from Interscope.

• Dave Matthews Band will release their first studio album in four years on April 14, 2009.

• Depeche Mode has completed work on their next studio album; the disc is due out in the spring 2009.

• Trigger Point have completed work on "Giving Up The Ghost", the follow-up to the band's 2005 effort "A Silent Protest", released via Corporate Punishment Records. An exact release date for the new album has yet to be announced.

• Airbourne announced that they are in the studio working on a new album. No release date has been revealed.

• Lacuna Coil's new album, "Shallow Life", is due out in spring 2009 via Century Media.

• Dredg have set a March 24, 2009 release date for their upcoming as-yet-untitled new album.

• Indigo Girls will release their new album, "Poseidon And The Bitter Bug", on March 24, 2009, on their own label IG Recordings, with distribution through Vanguard.

• Collective Soul have signed a new record deal with Loud & Proud Records, a Roadrunner Records imprint label. The band will hit the studio to begin work on a new album early next year with a summer 2009 release expected.

• Maynard James Keenan and Billy Howerdel could restart A Perfect Circle in the near future, after they took a hiatus from the Tool singer's side project. Howerdel released an album with his own band, Ashes Divide, earlier this year, but the group is currently inactive.

• Blue October has set "Approaching Normal" as the title for the Texan Rock band's fifth studio album; the disc will be in stores on March 24, 2009 while the first single, "Dirt Room" will be released to digital outlets on December 23.

• Static-X have set March 17, 2009, as the release date for their new album "Cult Of Static".

• Doves will release their as-yet-untitled new album in April 2009 via in North America; the first single will be "Kingdom Of Rust".

• Staind front-man Aaron Lewis will begin work on a new solo album in April 2009 with hopes of a release toward the end of the touring cycle for the latest Staind album "The Illusion Of Progress".

• Tori Amos has signed with Universal Republic for her next album, expected out in late spring or early summer of next year.

• Is a Creed reunion in the works? Billboard reports that negotiations are under way for “a lucrative 2009 reunion tour” for the platinum-selling rockers. The Scott Stapp-led group has not performed since a rancorous split in June 2004.

• The Prodigy will return with their fifth album, "Invaders Must Die", on March 3, 2009. Dave Grohl appears on the album, playing drums on the track "Run With The Wolves".

• Hurt have completed work on their new studio effort, "Goodbye To The Machine", which is set to be released in February/March 2009.
  

• Now that Rob Zombie has released a new single, "War Zone", of course fans want to know when a new record will be coming out. Zombie says that he is “almost finished” recording his new album and that it will be more of a group effort rather than a pure solo album.

• Bullet For My Valentine are working on a new album which they hope to release before the end of 2009.

• Fountains Of Wayne are busy recording their new album, which bassist + songwriter Adam Schlesinger hopes to have out in 2009.

• Chimaira's as-yet-untitled new album has been bumped up one week and will now be released on April 21, 2009.

• Ben Lee will release his seventh studio album, "The Rebirth Of Venus", on February 10, 2009, via New West.

• Bon Jovi will have plenty of new projects on their plate in 2009, including a live DVD, new music and a greatest hits collection. The DVD and best-of effort could be packaged together for a fall 2009 street date.

• Chevelle will begin recording their fifth studio album early next year; a spring release is expected.

• Lifehouse announced that they have entered the studio to work on their fifth album which they will be releasing sometime next year.

• Ben Harper is recording an album with a new band, Relentless7; the disc, titled "White Lies For Dark Times", is due in May 2009 via Virgin.
  

• The Ataris will be heading into the studio in December to record a new album which they plan to release in the Summer of 2009.

• Rammstein announced that they have finished pre-production on their upcoming as-yet-untitled new album. No release date has been announced.

• Taking Back Sunday have revealed the title of their upcoming fourth full-length as "New Again".

• Mushroomhead will hit the studio in January 2009 to begin work on a new studio album. A spring release is expected.

• Deftones bassist Chi Cheng has been hospitalized following a serious car accident, it was confirmed by Warner Bros. The label released a statement that said Cheng was in “serious but stable condition” and did not provide any other details.

• Lamb Of God will release their fifth studio album, "Wrath", on February 24, 2009.

• The Strokes plan to regroup in February 2009, ending a hiatus that began after touring to promote 2006's "First Impressions Of Earth", according to drummer Fabrizio Moretti.

• Smile Empty Soul will release their new studio effort, "Consciousness", in early 2009.

• Mastodon will release their new album, "Crack The Skye", early next year via Reprise.

• Linkin Park will release their first ever live CD/DVD set on November 25, but the band is looking ahead to their fourth studio album, which singer Chester Bennington describes as a “concept record”.

• Lily Allen will return on February 10, 2009 with "It's Not Me, It's You", the follow-up to her breakthrough debut album "Alright, Still".
  

• Legendary guitarist Slash has plans to release his first solo album in 2009. Recording is expected to begin early next year for the album which will feature different vocalist for each track.

• Weezer front-man Rivers Cuomo has announced a November 25 release date for his second solo effort titled "Alone II: The Home Recordings Of Rivers Cuomo".

• Our Lady Peace is currently in the midst of finishing their seventh studio album; frontman Raine Maida revealed that it will be released commercially in early 2009 and added that a single, titled "Burn Burn", will be released shortly.

• Madina Lake have titled their new studio album "Attics To Eden", the band is currently in pre-production for the album which will be released in 2009.

• Crossfade have begun work on their third studio album which is expected to be released in 2009.

• New Found Glory have titled their upcoming new album "Not Without A Fight". The album is expected to be released sometime in February 2009.

• The release date for Chris Cornell’s new solo album "Scream" has been delayed and will now see an early 2009 release.

• Guns 'N Roses album "Chinese Democracy" will be out on Sunday, November 23 instead of a traditional Tuesday release date.

• Green Day's long-awaited follow-up to 2004's smash hit "American Idiot" is being produced by Butch Vig. The new album is expected out in 2009.

• Sister Hazel front-man Ken Block will release his solo debut album, "Drift", on December 9.
  

• Finch announced on their MySpace blog that they are currently working on a new full-length album.

• Red's sophomore effort "Innocence & Instinct" will arrive in stores on February 10, 2009.

• Thursday have inked a deal with Epitaph Records and plan to release their fifth full-length album in the spring of 2009.

• Chimaira's as-yet-untitled new studio effort has been given a tentative release date of April 28, 2009.

• The Von Bondies has signed to Majordomo Records, a division of Shout Factory and will release its third album, "Love, Hate And Then There's You", on February 3, 2009.

• RollingStone.com reports that the decade-plus-in-the-making Guns N' Roses' album "Chinese Democracy" will be released exclusively by Best Buy on November 25, however Billboard reports a release date has yet to be set.
  In June, nine purported “mastered, finished” tracks from the album were leaked online, prompting an FBI investigation into their source.

• Day Of Fire are in studio working on the follow-up to 2006's "Cut & Move". An early 2009 release is expected.

• Former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and Adam 'DJ AM' Goldstein were seriously hurt in a fiery South Carolina jet crash that killed four others Friday, September 19.
  Dr. Fred Mullins, medical director of the Joseph M. Still Burn Center, in Augusta, explained that Barker was burned on his torso and AM was burned on his hands and part of his head. Both suffer second- and third-degree burns and remain in critical but stable condition.
  

• Weezer doesn't plan to waste any time in getting to work on its next album. Drummer Pat Wilson tells Billboard.com that the quartet plans to start recording the follow-up to this year's "Weezer" -a.k.a. "The Red Album"- in early November.

• Saliva will release their sixth studio album, "The Great American Monstar", in November.

• Sammy Hagar has signed with Loud & Proud Records, an imprint of Roadrunner Records, for the release of his new album "Cosmic Universal Fashion". The album is due out on November 18.

• Wilco will enter the studio in October to record the follow-up to last year's "Sky Blue Sky"; the band's seventh album is expected out some time next spring.

• Lily Allen has announced that her second album, tentatively titled "Stuck On The Naughty Step", will be released on February 9, 2009.

• The Killers has set "Day & Age" as the title of its new album, due on November 25. The first single will be titled "Human".
  

• Pink Floyd keyboardist Richard Wright, whose playing enriched some of the most popular songs in Rock history, died on September 15 in Britain after a short battle with cancer. He was 65.

• Rob Thomas's second solo album, the follow-up to 2005's platinum "...Something To Be" should be finished by the end of the year, Thomas plans to have it ready for release in early 2009.

• After spending most of their career on Geffen Records, alt-Rock veterans Sonic Youth have signed to Matador Records for their next studio album which is due out in 2009.

• It Dies Today have announced that they will release their upcoming new album, "Lividity", on January 27, 2009, via Trustkill.

• The All-American Rejects upcoming new album will be titled "When The World Comes Down" and is scheduled for a November 18 release date.

• Alice In Chains are set to hit the studio in October to begin recording their first album since their 1995 self-titled release. The album will be the first with new front-man William DuVall who joined the band in 2006.

• Nickelback will release their as-yet-untitled new studio album on November 18 via Roadrunner; the band have selected "If Today Was Your Last Day" as the first single off their upcoming CD.

• The next U2 album, which had been expected out in time for the holidays, has now been delayed to early 2009.

• Scott Weiland's second solo album, "Happy In Galoshes", will arrive November 18 via his own Softdrive label.

• Fall Out Boy will release its fifth album, "Folie A Deux", November 4 via Island, the same day as the U.S. presidential election. The album's first single will be called "I Don't Care".

• Chris Cornell has set October 14 as the release date for his third solo album, titled "Scream".

• The Cure's new album, "4:13 Dream", is finally slated for release on October 13. The disc will be the band's first full-length since their 2004 self-titled album.

• Jackson Browne has set September 23 as the release data of "Time The Conqueror", his first album of new material in six years.

• After spending the last year working with former Marilyn Manson guitarist John 5, Lynyrd Skynyrd is close to finishing its next studio album. Current plans call for the band to hit the studio this fall and finish recording by the end of the year. An early 2009 street date is planned on a label to be announced.

• Killswitch Engage will enter the studio to begin work on the follow-up to 2006's "As Daylight Dies" in October. A spring 2009 release is expected.

• Papa Roach is putting the finishing touches on their fifth album, "Metamorphosis", which is expected to hit the shelves before the end of the year.

• Dave Matthews Band saxophone player LeRoi Moore, one of the group's founding members and a key part of its eclectic Jazz-infused sound, died August 19 from injuries he sustained in an all-terrain vehicle accident in June. He was 46.

• Mudvayne has set "The New Game" as the tentative title of its new album and is hoping for a late November release. A second full-length record is tentatively due next year.

• Lamb Of God will release its next, as-yet-untitled, album in February 2009 via Epic Records.

• Everclear has added drummer Tommy Stewart to their line-up replacing previous drummer, Brett Snyder. The band will be releasing a new single, "Jesus Was A Democrat", in September.

• Thievery Corporation's fifth album, "Radio Retaliation", will emerge September 23 on CD via the duo's own ESL Music, with a digital release scheduled for two weeks earlier.

• Isaac Hayes, the iconic soul man whose sexy baritone earned him the nickname “The Black Moses” and who became the first black composer to snag an Oscar, has been found dead at his home in Memphis. He was 65.
  

• Scott Stapp announced in an interview recently that his upcoming second solo album, should be released this October.

• Sepultura have titled their new album "A-Lex"; the disc is due out in November.

• Keyboardist+bassist Chris Ross and drummer Myles Heskett have exited Australian Rock act Wolfmother after “longstanding frictions”, but frontman Andrew Stockdale says he will continue the group with new members.

• Morrissey's next album, "Years Of Refusal", has been postponed until early 2009, according to the artist's publicist. The disc, was originally scheduled to be issued in September.

• Snow Patrol's fifth studio album has been christened "A Hundred Million Suns" and will be released in October, according to an online post from frontman Gary Lightbody.

• The Killers as-yet-untitled third album will be released this November, according to sources at their record label, Island. They are currently finishing recording in their new studio in Las Vegas.

• Switchfoot is eyeballing a spring 2009 release for its next album, the San Diego rockers first since 2006's "Oh! Gravity" and since leaving Columbia to start its own label, the ATO-distributed Lowercase People Records.

• The original members of Cold will reunite in 2009 to record a new studio album which is slated for a fall 2009 release.

• American Idol winner David Cook is hard at work on his debut album, which he hopes to release in November via 19 Recordings/Arista. Cook has been writing material for the set with collaborators such as Collective Soul's Ed Roland and Our Lady Peace's Raine Maida.
  

• The Pretenders will roll out their new album, "Break Up The Concrete", as one MP3 per week with a different partner leading up to the September 23 CD street date via Shangri-La Music.

• The release of The Cure's long-delayed 13th studio effort has been pushed back one more month, to October 13.

• AC/DC's forthcoming album will be called "Black Ice" and will be released on October 27. The first single, "Runaway Train", will hit radio in late August.
  The band's first studio album in eight years was recorded in Canada at Bryan Adams' studio under the production guidance of Brendan O'Brien.

• Rise Against have announced that they will release their upcoming new album, "Appeal To Reason" on October 7.

• Diffuser will be releasing their new studio album, "Sincerely, Wasting Away", on August 19 via Chamberlain Records.

• Funeral For A Friend have set "Memory And Humanity" as the title of their new album, due on October 13.

• Underoath will release its fourth studio album, "Lost In The Sound Of Separation" on September 2 via Tooth & Nail.

• Cold War Kids have announced that their new album, "Loyal To Loyalty", will be released in September via Downtown Records.

• Blues Traveler is gearing up for the release of its new album, "North Hollywood Shootout"; the disc will be out August 26 on Verve Forecast.

• Butch Walker is planning a September release for his new album "Sycamore Meadows".

• Saliva are in the studio again with famed producer Bob Marlette recording their new album, currently titled "Monster"; the disc has currently scheduled a late 2008 release through Island Records.

• Our Lady Peace's upcoming as-yet-untitled fifth album will mark the beginning of a new chapter in the band's 10-year history, according to drummer Jeremy Taggart. The band has 17 songs recorded, many of which are finished.

• Cartel has parted ways with Epic and inked a new multi-rights deal with Wind-Up. The band is currently writing its third album, which is being eyed for an early 2009 release.

• The release of Default's new album, "Still Standing", is now scheduled for a March 2009 release. The album was originally set to be released this summer, but was delayed when the bands former label, TVT Records, filed for bankruptcy in February.

• Buckcherry have titled their upcoming album "Black Butterfly". The disc is due out on September 23.

• Funeral For A Friend have titled their upcoming new album "Memory And Humanity" and it is due out sometime in September.

• Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello is readying the release of his next solo album, "The Fabled City", due September 30 via Epic. The album is the follow-up to 2007's "One Man Revolution", which Morello released under the name The Nightwatchman. He is now billed at Tom Morello: The Nightwatchman.

• Lily Allen is wrapping up work on her sophomore effort in Los Angeles. The record is expected out early in 2009.
  

• Oasis will release their seventh studio album, "Dig Out Your Soul", on October 7. It is the first under the band's new deal for their own Big Brother imprint. The lead single is "The Shock Of The Lightning".

• Senses Fail have set September 23 as the release date for their as-yet-untitled new studio album.

• The Shins will self-release their fourth studio album through frontman James Mercer's Aural Apothecary label. The band's most recent album, 2007's "Wincing The Night Away", debuted at a career-best #2 on The Billboard 200.

• The Verve have set a release date for their comeback album; the as-yet-untitled record will be out on August 19 in the U.S., with a U.K. release the day before.

• Trivium's upcoming album, tentatively titled "Shogun", is set to hit stores on September 30.

• Keane have been working on its third LP for over a year now and it looks as though things are almost complete; the U.K. Rock outfit's upcoming album does not have a confirmed title or a release date, though tentatively scheduled for late 2008, but it will be out for certain on Interscope Records.
  

• Metallica's new album will be titled "Death Magnetic" and is expected in September. No new material has been played live at the band's handful of recent shows, but British journalists have heard rough mixes of six untitled songs, several of which cross the seven-minute mark.

• Korn will begin recording their new album in November with producer Ross Robinson. The disc is expected to arrive in stores early next year.

• Sammy Hagar has teamed with acclaimed guitarist Joe Satriani, Red Hot Chili Pepper drummer Chad Smith and former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony. The group, code-named Chickenfoot, will enter the recording studio this summer to record their debut album.

• Muse have announced that they are currently in the studio in Italy recording their follow up to 2006's "Black Holes And Revelations".

• Morrissey is planning a September release for his ninth studio album, "Years Of Refusal".

• Black Stone Cherry will issue their new album, "Folklore And Superstition", via Roadrunner Records on August 19, the band have selected "Blind Man" as the first single off their upcoming CD.

• The original line-up of Simple Minds will hit the studio this June for the first time in 27 years. Brian McGee, Derek Forbes, Mick McNeil, Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill are aiming to record “at least two new tracks” for release before the end of the year, according to SimpleMinds.com.

• Anberlin will release their upcoming new album, "New Surrender", on September 30 via Universal Republic.
  

• The Smashing Pumpkins have announced that they will be releasing a new single in September.

• Nothingface members Matt Holt, Tom Maxwell, Chris Houck and Bill Gaal have reunited and working on a new studio album.

• 311 have hit the studio to work on their as-yet-untitled new album with esteemed producer Bob Rock. The band is looking to release the album in the Spring of 2009.

• The Classic Crime will release their new album, "The Silver Cord", on July 22.

• Hawthorne Heights have announced that they will release their upcoming as-yet-untitled album on August 5 via Victory Records.

• Decyfer Down have titled their new album "Crash". The disc is due out on September 16.

• The original line-up of second wave Ska pioneers The Specials are plotting a reunion later this year, bringing together the founding members for the first time since their heyday in the early '80s.

• Sepultura have begun work on their new studio album which will be based around the 1962 novel "A Clock Work Orange" and its author Anthony Burgess. An October release is expected.

• Oasis' new as-yet-untitled studio album is expected to hit stores in September.

• Hinder's follow-up to its triple platinum 2005 debut, "Extreme Behavior", is expected out later this year and reportedly titled "Take It To The Limit".
  

• John Rutsey, a founding member of the veteran Canadian Rock band Rush, has died, his family announced. He was 55. Rutsey played drums with Rush from 1968 to 1974, as well as on the band's eponymous debut album, but departed soon afterwards.

• Breaking Benjamin's as-yet-untitled new studio album is due out on September 30.

• It Dies Today are currently working on its third studio record, "Lividity", which is due out in the fall.

• The Toadies will be releasing a new studio album titled "No Deliverance" on August 19. The album will be their first since their split in 2001.

• Zebrahead have announced that they have finished work on their as-yet-untitled new album which they plan to release sometime this summer.

• SOiL are planning a late summer / early fall release for their new studio album.

• Slipknot has set an August 11 U.K. release date and one day later in the U.S. for the much-anticipated as-yet-untitled new album.

• Lit have announced that their drummer Allen Shellenberger is currently in the hospital undergoing treatment for a recently discovered brain tumor. The band have been forced to cancel their upcoming U.K. and Europe dates and are asking for prayers and uplifting comments on their WebSite.

• Thrid Eye Blind's new studio album, "Ursa Major", is expected to be out at the end of the year.

• Beck will return this summer with an as-yet untitled 10-song set produced by Danger Mouse. The album will be released on Interscope in North America and on XL Records in the rest of the world.

• Pearl Jam has begun work on the follow-up to 2006's self-titled album; guitarist Mike McCready revealed in an interview that the band “are in the process of writing a bunch of new songs”, McCready also added that “We will try to do a record sometime this year, but that's about all we got. We've got about four or five tunes ready to go right now”.

• The Cure has announced a September 13 street date for its still-untitled 13th studio album and plans to release four singles, one per month, starting May 13 in anticipation, according to a post on the band's WebSite.
  

• O.A.R. have announced that they will release their upcoming new album, "All Sides", on July 15.

• Taproot have titled their upcoming album "Our Long Road Home"; the new record is due out August 5.

• The Strokes bassist Nikolai Fraiture recently revealed that the band's fourth record is currently in the works. “I'd like to say that I'm still looking very forward to a fourth album release. We just need to work out a few technical kinks”, Fraiture recently posted on the band's WebSite. “It's been a long break but much needed for us to remain together as a productive band”.

• People In Planes will release their new album "Beyond The Horizon" on June 24 via Wind-Up.

• Scott Weiland is recording his second solo album with famed Indie-Rock producer Steve Albini and plans to release it in November. No Doubt drummer Adrian Young will record the drum tracks for the album.

• The Goo Goo Dolls plan to take a stripped-down approach to their next album, which frontman John Rzeznik hopes to have out in the fourth quarter of this year.

• Ben Folds is eyeing a September release for his first proper studio album in over three years; the disc does not have a title yet.
  

• Staind have announced that their upcoming new album will be titled "The Illusion Of Progress", with a summer release date expected.

• Bright Eyes principal Conor Oberst has signed with Merge Records for his first solo album in 12 years. The self-titled set is due August 5.

• Judas Priest will release a new concept album, "Nostradamus", on June 17 via Epic Records. The album recounts the life of the mysterious 16th Century French prophet.

• Everlast's new album "Love, War And The Ghost Of Whitey Ford" is due out on June 24.

• Papa Roach have announced the addition of former Unwritten Law drummer Tony Palmero. The band has set "Days Of War, Nights Of Love" as the title of its new album, tentatively due before the end of the year.

• Soulfly have set July 29 as the release date for their new album, "Conquer".

• Buckcherry is eyeballing a summer release for its next album, the follow-up to 2006's platinum "15".

• Motley Crue will release their new studio album, "Saints Of Los Angeles", on June 17.

• Fall Out Boy have announced that they plan to hit the studio in the next few months to begin recording their follow-up to last year's "Infinity On High".

• The Offspring will release their new studio album, "Rise And Fall, Rage And Grace", on June 17.

• Weezer have announced that their upcoming new self-titled album will be their "Red Album"; the released date is set for June 17.

• No Doubt are in the studio working on their first record in seven years; the disc is expected out in the first half of 2009, with an extensive tour to follow.
  

• Velvet Revolver and frontman Scott Weiland have officially parted ways, according to a statement from founding members Slash, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum and Dave Kushner, as Weiland gears up for the Stone Temple Pilots reunion tour.

• Saliva have begun work on the follow-up to last years "Blood Stained Love Story"; the release of the band's upcoming album is expected in October.

• Steely Dan principal Walter Becker's first solo album in 14 years, "Circus Money", is on target for a late May / early June release via his own 5 Over 12 imprint / Mailboat.

• The new Shinedown album, "Sound Of Madness", is scheduled to be in stores on June 24.

• Elvis Costello will release his new album, "Momofuku", on April 22 via Lost Highway; the album will only be available at retail on vinyl and the digital download information will be packaged with the record.

• After reuniting with Paul Rodgers on vocals, Queen will release a new album for the first time in over a decade. Rolling Stone reports the band is aiming to release the record on September 1.

• ZZ TOP is currently in a Dallas studio, preparing a new series of sessions of new material for the band's first studio set since 2003's "Mescalero".

• Senses Fail will hit the studio in April to begin work on their new studio album; a September release is planned.

• Coldplay has titled their fourth studio album "Viva La Vida" and set a June 17 release date for the record.

• Warrant have announced that they are currently working on new ideas and plan to release a new album by the end of the year.

• Journey's new studio album, entitled "Revelation", will be released in June exclusively via Wal-Mart stores. The CD will be released in a package set that will include a live DVD filmed on March 8, 2008 in Las Vegas.

• As fans around the world await a follow up to 2003's "St. Anger", Metallica is eyeing September as the release date for their new opus.
  

• The Dandy Warhols have partnered with World's Fair Group to launch their own label, Beat The World. A new album is expected out this year. The group was previously signed to Capitol.

• Disturbed's new album, "Indestructible", will hit stores on June 3.

• The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus have hit the studio to begin work on the follow-up to the band's 2006 debut "Don't You Fake It".

• As usual, Dave Matthews Band will set out on a summer tour. The group will be promoting their upcoming, as-yet-untitled album, which is the follow-up to 2005's "Stand Up". Guitarist Tim Reynolds is playing on this record, marking his first recording with the band since 1998's "Before These Crowded Streets".

• Black Stone Cherry have hit the studio to record their sophomore effort, a summer release is expected.

• Unwritten Law have signed a new record deal with Suburban Noize Records; a new studio album is due out in late 2008.

• Smile Empty Soul has completed work on their new album "Consciousness" which is due out this summer.
  

• Phantom Planet will release "Raise The Dead", their first album in four years, on April 15 via Fueled By Ramen.

• Motley Crue are eying a July 8 release for their new studio album tentatively titled "‘The Dirt" with the first single impacting radio in early May.

• Death Cab For Cutie will release its second major label album, "Narrow Stairs", on May 13 via Atlantic.

• The Wallflowers vocalist Jakob Dylan will release his solo debut album, the largely acoustic "Seeing Things", on May 13 via Columbia Records/Starbucks Entertainment.

• AC/DC are planning to hit the studio on March 1 to record a new album which will end an 8-year recording drought. The band expects to hit the road following the release to support the new album.

• Filter has set May 13 as the release date for their new album "Anthems For The Damned".

• Asia has wrapped recording on its next album, "Phoenix", due out in April and the first to feature the group's original all-star line-up since "Alpha" in 1983.

• Maynard James Keenan tells MTV News that Tool fans won't have to wait five years for another record. “We're going to start writing the new Tool record right away”, he said at the Grammys.

• The Vines have finished recording their upcoming new album and is now being mixed.
  

• Beck has revealed to Rolling Stone that he is working on his next record, which should be out in 2008. Beck said he is currently working with an unnamed producer on the new material in Hollywood.

• Revelation Theory's as-yet-untitled new album will be released in the spring via Interscope.

• Local H will be releasing a new studio album entitled "‘Twelve Angry Months" on May 13.

• My Morning Jacket have titled their upcoming album "Evil Urges"; the new record is due out June 10.

• Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash tells Billboard.com that vocalist Scott Weiland will reunite with his Stone Temple Pilots bandmates for a handful of summer concerts.

• AFI have hit the studio to begin work on the follow-up to 2006's "Decemberunderground".

• Hoobastank have announced in a blog that they are currently finishing up the writing their fourth album and should be in the studio in late February.

• UB40 singer Ali Campbell has decided to leave the band after nearly 30 years; in separate statements, Campbell blamed “intolerable management difficulties” for his departure, while the band said the singer wants to pursue a solo career.

• Whitesnake will celebrate their 30th anniversary by releasing, "Good To Be Bad", their first studio album in a decade. The album will feature 11 new Whitesnake songs.

• Dishwalla frontman J.R. Richards has titled his upcoming solo debut "The Ghost Of Sorrow"; the album will be released later this year.

• Blind Melon will release its first studio album in 13 years this spring. "For My Friends" is due April 22 via Adrenaline and introduces new singer Travis Warren as a replacement for late frontman Shannon Hoon, who died in 1995.

• Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos has opened up about the group's upcoming third record, due out this summer. He describes the band's new material as “dirty pop”.

• 10 Years new album, "Division", has been pushed forward to an April 8 release; the first single, "Beautiful", will be going to radio on February 5.

• Def Leppard are planning a March 18 release for their new studio album "Songs From The Sparkle Lounge".
  

• Gavin Rossdale, former of Bush and lead singer of Institute, is working on his first solo album and plans to release it sometime in April. Rossdale began working on the disc last year in Hawaii with producer Bob Rock.

• Anberlin will be entering the studio next month to record their new album, which they look to release sometime later this year.

• Deftones have titled their sixth studio set "Eros"; the album is due out later this year.

• Sevendust have changed the title of their upcoming new album from "The 7th Chapter" to "Hope And Sorrow" and changed the release date from March 4 to April 1.

• Rancid are in the studio working on a new record with producer Brett Gurewitz; the as-yet-untitled album is due out sometime in 2008.

• Daughtry have announced that they already have 17 songs ready for their sophomore album and hope to complete writing this spring.

• Panic! At The Disco have titled their long-awaited sophomore effort, "Pretty.Odd"; the album will be released on March 25.
  

• American Hi-Fi have streamed two new songs on their MySpace page, the tracks are taken from the band's upcoming new album in which they plan to finish recording in February.

• Underoath will be hitting the studio in March to record their follow-up to "Define The Great Line".

• In Flames have titled their new album "A Sense Of Purpose"; an April release is expected.

• Death Cab For Cutie will release the follow-up to their 2005 mainstream breakthrough "Plans", in late May via Atlantic.

• OK Go will be spending the next few months penning its next, as-yet-unnamed album. The aim is to completely finish writing the tunes before entering the studio this summer.

• Influential Punk outfit Flipper are currently recording their first studio album in fifteen years. The band has recruited former Nirvana bassist Krist Noveselic to play on the new album which is due out later this year.

• Story Of The Year are planning a April 22 release for the as-yet-untitled third LP. The album will be the first released via their new record label, Epitaph Records.

• Goldfinger will release their as-yet-untitled new album on April 29, via Sideonedummy Records.
