Deftones front-man Chino Moreno was recently in the studio writing and recording on a track with Tommy Lee for the upcoming new Methods Of Mayhem record due out sometime next year via Roadrunner Records.
Steven Tyler has quit Aerosmith, according to the band's guitarist Joe Perry. In August, Tyler broke his shoulder after falling off stage while performing in South Dakota. Perry admitted that following the accident he and Tyler didn't speak for more than a month, prompting rumours the band's future was in jeopardy.
Blaqk Audio, the electronic-oriented side-project from AFI members Davey Havok and Jade Puget, is waiting in the wings. On July 20, Adam "MCA" Yauch of The Beastie Boys announced in a video statement that he was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his left parotid (salivary) gland. The tumor was found early and is very treatable, however, Yauch will require surgery and radiation treatment. Luckily, the cancer in not in a location that will affect Yauch's vocal chords. In light of this news, the Beasties have cancelled all upcoming tour dates on their schedule and will also postpone the release of their new album, "Hot Sauce Committee".
