Stone Sour will enter the studio on March 15 to begin recording their new record with a tentative summer release date planned.

Jack Johnson returns from his Hawaiian home for his latest studio effort, "To The Sea". The album was recorded in just three weeks at Johnson's solar powered studio in the 50th state and will be out June 1, with the lead single, "You And Your Heart", landing at radio in April.

 

Hellyeah have announced that they will release their as-yet-untitled sophomore album on June 1.

 

Band Of Horses will release their third album, "Infinite Arms", on May 18. It will be the band's first release since 2007's "Cease To Begin".

Norma Jean have begun recording their fifth studio album, a release is due later this year.

 

Saving Abel have announced that their upcoming as-yet-untitled new album will be released on June 8.

 

Saliva next full-length album of original material will be titled "Take That Society" and will come out from mid to late 2010.

 

Rob Thomas, The Killers' Brandon Flowers and Ben Harper are among the singers who will appear on the upcoming new album from INXS. The album is said to contain new versions of their hits with various people playing the part of the late Michael Hutchence. The record, currently, has no title or release date.

 

Filter announced that they have completed the recording process for their upcoming new album due out sometime later this year.

Coldplay have announced that they hope to release their next album sometime around Christmas this year. The record is being produced by Brian Eno and recorded in a London church with efforts to get away from the “stadium band” feel get back to their roots with a “stripped-down acoustic album”.

The Knack frontman Doug Fieger has passed away at the age of 57 after a long battle with cancer. The Detroit-born singer + songwriter died on Sunday, Feb. 14, at his home in Woodland Hills, California. Fieger formed The Knack in Los Angeles in 1978 and they became Power Pop favorites with their Billboard Hot 100 #1 and worldwide smash "My Sharona".

 

Robert Plant is working on an upcoming solo album tentatively titled "It's Rude To Say No" due out sometime later this year.

 

Sevendust will drop their new record, "Cold Day Memory", on April 20. The effort is the first recorded with original guitarist Clint Lowery since 2003's "Seasons" and will be prefaced by the single "Unraveling".

 

Bullet For My Valentine will release their new single "Your Betrayal" to radio on March 9. The group's new yet-to-be-titled record is due out in the spring.

Slash has contributed a guitar solo on Alter Bridge front-man Myles Kennedy's upcoming debut solo album. Last week it was revealed that Myles will front Slash's band for the tour promoting his upcoming solo album simply called "Slash" and due out in April through EMI Label Services.

 

MGMT will release their sophomore album, "Congratulations", on April 13. The duo co-produced the follow-up to their debut, "Oracular Spectacular" and it features nine songs.

Oasis' Liam Gallagher has confirmed he has ditched the band's name, following the departure of his brother Noel Gallagher. The yet-to-be-named band will hit the studio in April for a new record.

Velvet Revolver bassist Duff McKagan has reportedly joined the line-up of Jane's Addiction for their upcoming record. McKagan replaces Eric Avery who rejoined the group in 2008 only to leave in January 2010.

 

Original members of Revis have reunited and are currently working on their second studio album. The band released their debut album "Places For Breathing", which featured the Mainstream Rock top 10 hit "Caught In The Rain", in 2003. The group later disbanded in 2005 following their split from Epic Records.

3rd Strike front-man Jim Korthe was found dead Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at his San Pedro, California home, from undetermined causes pending a toxicology report. He was 39 years old.

 

Scorpions have announced that after 40 years, their upcoming new album will be their last. The band's final album, "Sting In The Tail", is due out March 23.

 

Soilwork are back in the studio recording their new album, "The Panic Broadcast", due later this year.

 

Ozzy Osbourne decided against titling his new record "Soul Sucka" as previously reported. The now untitled disc is expected to be released in July.

 

Godsmack is putting the finishing touches on its new album, "Saints & Sinners", for a tentative spring release. The CD is the band's first collection of all-new material since 2006's "IV".

Barenaked Ladies will release their first album since parting ways with founding member and co-frontman Steven Page. The disc, titled "All In Good Time", will be released March 30 on their own Raisin Records via a worldwide deal with EMI Music.

 

Airbourne have pushed the release of their new record, "No Guts, No Glory", back to April 20. The Australian hard-rockers have selected "No Way But The Hard Way" as the first single off their upcoming album.

 

In a new posting on NIN.com over the holidays, Trent Reznor hinted at a new Nine Inch Nails release of some sort in 2010. Reznor wrote that he has a number of things planned for the new year, “including new material from Nine Inch Nails and something else that isn't Nine Inch Nails”.

 

Travis frontman Fran Healy revealed in his blog that not only is he recording a solo album, but Paul McCartney contributes a bass part to one of his new songs.

 

Soundgarden will reunite for concerts in 2010, according to a Twitter message from frontman Chris Cornell which directs fans to a new WebSite, Soundgardenworld.com. The Seattle Rock quartet has not played live since splitting up in the spring of 1997.
