OCTOBER

 

Megadeth have announced their 15th album "Dystopia". The CD will be released on January 22, 2016 and will be the first veteran metallers' offering since lead guitarist Chris Broderick and drummer Shawn Drover exited the line-up in 2014.

 

 

SEPTEMBER

 

Chickenfoot, Sammy Hagar's band with Joe Satriani, Red Hot Chili Pepper's Chad Smith and former Van Halen Michael Anthony, are working on a their third album.

 

Killing Joke will release their 16th studio album, "Pylon", on October 23 via Spinefarm Records.

 

Kurt Cobain's soundtrack album "Montage Of Heck: The Home Recordings" will released November 13 via Universal Music in multiple formats, The deluxe edition showcases 31 tracks including spoken word, demos and full songs, the 13-track standard soundtrack focuses on the music discovered on Cobain's personal cassettes.

 

Killswitch Engage predict their seventh album will be their most diverse to date. They were forced to pause the recording process earlier this month as frontman Jesse Leach battled a throat infection, but they report that work on the follow-up to 2013's "Disarm The Descent" is back on track and on course for a 2016 release.

 

Candiria have signed to Metal Blade Records. Since forming in 1992, the band has released seven albums, two EPs and survived a serious van crash in 2002. Now, with a new record deal in place, Candiria is on course to release their first new full-length since 2009's "Kiss The Lie".

 

ELO will release its 12th album, "Alone In The Universe" on November 13 via Columbia records. The disc is the first outing in 14 years from Jeff Lynne's band.

 

Cavo is working on a new album which is set to be titled "Bridges"; the disc is expected to drop early next year.

 

Kansas have inked a worldwide deal with InsideOut Music. The legendary Rock group are currently in the midst of an extensive US tour and will release of their 15th studio album on the new label.

 

 

AUGUST

 

Ozzy Osbourne's new album is under way and will apparently be a “special” endeavor according to Epic Records President Sylvia Rhone.

 

Rob Zombie is getting closer to wrapping up several long gestating projects. In a recent interview, Zombie gives an update on his horror film "31" as well as his next studio album which is expected to come out next March.

 

Korn guitarist Brian 'Head' Welch says the band are creating material for their next album at breakneck speed. They recently began work on the follow-up to 2013's "The Paradigm Shift", with several members having speculated over its direction in recent months.

 

Drowning Pool have announced a worldwide deal with eOne Music and plans to release their as-yet untitled new album through the label early next year.

 

 

JULY

 

Blink-182's Mark Hoppus has revealed in an interview that the band will be entering the studio next month to record a new album with Alkaline Trio frontman Matt Skiba.

 

Bon Jovi is planning to release what's described as “an album for fans”, the disc titled "Burning Bridges" is due out August 21.

 

Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen says that the band's eagerly awaited new studio album since 2008's "Songs From The Sparkle Lounge", is set for release in October.

 

Sixx:AM are planning to release a pair of connected albums in 2016 as companions to a two-year world tour.

 

Damon Albarn announced that he start to work on a new album with Gorillaz in September. The disc has an expected release date of some time in 2016. In anticipation Jamie Hewlett has been posting new artwork of the band's cartoon characters on his Instagram profile.

 

Silversun Pickups announced their fourth studio album, "Better Nature", will arrive September 25 on the band's new label, New Machine Recordings.

 

Clutch will release their new album, "Psychic Warfare", on October 2 via the band's own label, Weathermaker Music.

 

Coheed And Cambria will release their eighth studio, "The Color Before The Sun", on October 9 via 300 Entertainment. It is the band's first non-conceptual release, after their previous offerings all formed the science fiction saga known as The Amory Wars.

 

New Order are back with a new record, "Music Complete". The Electro-Rock icons' first release on their new label Mute, which is set to drop on September 25, features contributions from Brandon Flowers, Iggy Pop and The Chemical Brothers' Tom Rowlands.

 

Keith Richards will release his first solo album in more than 20 years, "Crosseyed Heart", on September 18.

 

David Cook will release his long awaited third studio album, "Digital Vein", on September 18.

 

 

 

JUNE

 

Atreyu have announced that they will release their new album "Long Live" on September 18 through Spinefarm/Search and Destroy Records.

 

Eagles Of Death Metal are making their long-awaited return via their first new album since 2008. The duo, which features frontman Jesse Hughes and drummer Josh Homme will release "Zipper Down" on October 2.

 

Frank Turner will release his sixth album, "Positive Songs For Negative People", on August 7.

 

Iron Maiden have set September 4 as the release date for their forthcoming studio album "The Book Of Souls".

 

Skindred will launch sixth album, "Volume", on October 30 via Napalm Records.

 

Kansas have confirmed they're working on their first album since 2000's "Somewhere To Elsewhere". The disc features the debut recording of vocalist Ronnie Platt who took over from Rich Williams last year.

 

 

MAY

 

Chris Cornell has announced he will release his next solo album, "Higher Truth", this September.

 

The Fratellis have announced the release of their fourth album, "Eyes Wide, Tongue Tied". The disc drops on August 21 via Cooking Vinyl.

 

Tom Petty's pre-fame group Mudcrutch are set to work on the follow-up to their 2008's self-titled album.

 

Motorhead have announced that their 22nd album will be called "Bad Magic" and it will be released on August 28. Lemmy and co will also head out on a winter tour to mark their 40th anniversary.

 

Queensryche have confirmed that their upcoming album is almost finished. Frontman Todd La Torre recently said the follow-up to their 2013 self-titled release was a “raging animal”.

 

Stereophonics will release their ninth album, "Keep The Village Alive", on September 11.

 

Blues great B.B. King has died at the age of 89 after being ill for some time, it's been confirmed. His lawyer Brent Bryson reported that he died peacefully in his sleep at home in Las Vegas on May 14.

 

Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong says the band have begun writing material for their next album; Armstrong already has a few tunes together for the follow-up to 2012's trilogy, "Uno!", "Dos!", "Tre!".

 

 

APRIL

 

Senses Fail have announced that they will release their sixth studio album, "Pull The Thorns From Your Heart", on June 30 via Pure Noise Records

 

P.O.D. has set "The Awakening" as the title of its new album, tentatively due in August, the disc's first single is expected to arrive in May.

 

A.J. Pero, drummer for Twisted Sister and Adrenaline Mob, has passed away at age 55 on March 20. He died of a suspected heart attack in his sleep, according to his bandmate Dee Snider.

 

 

MARCH

 

System Of A Down have written material for their long-awaited sixth album and they could start recording work soon. But bassist Shavo Odadjian says the band are trying to avoid revealing information about the follow-up to 2005's "Mesmerize" and "Hypnotize" records.


Filter frontman Richard Patrick has revealed in a recent interview that he's excited for the upcoming album, which is “a really, really different, original-sounding thing”. Offering an update on the band's next release, Patrick stated, “I wanted to release something maybe towards the end of this summer. I'm hoping that could be the case. But, you know, I'm developing a completely new sound for the band: 'new industrial'”.

 

Sevendust drummer Morgan Rose has confirmed via Twitter that the band have finished recording their tenth album.

 

Chris Cornell has been working hard on a new solo album and he is finally finished. The singer + songwriter & guitarist dropped the news in a post on his official Facebook page.


Matt Skiba And The Sekrets will release their second album on June 1 in Europe and June 2 in North America.

 

Breaking Benjamin have announced that they will release their comeback album, "Dark Before Dawn", on June 23, via K-SHE '95. The disc's lead single is called "Failure".

 

Whitesnake are set to return with their 12th studio album this spring. "The Purple Album" will be released in North America on May 19 via Frontiers.

 

Megadeth leader Dave Mustaine confirms the band are continuing to audition guitarists as they search for a replacement for Chris Broderick, who left the group last fall. They are also preparing to record a new album.

 

Deftones' eighth album is expected in September or October and the work is “a little screwy” when compared to their previous material, says frontman Chino Moreno.

 

Tremonti, the band led by Creed and Alter Bridge guitarist Mark Tremonti, will release its second album, "Cauterize", in May.

 

 

FEBRUARY

 

Mumford & Sons have announced that their forthcoming third album, "Wilder Mind", will be released in North America through Glassnote Records on May 4.

 

The Darkness have released a video for "Barbarian". Taken from the forthcoming "Last Of Our Kind" album, the follow-up to 2012's "Hot Cakes", it's the first material to emerge featuring new drummer Emily Dolan Davies.

 

The Answer, will release their new album, "Raise A Little Hell", this March in North America via Napalm Records.

 

Shinedown singer Brent Smith has revealed the band are recording their fifth album and its theme is “survival”. The follow-up to 2012's "Amaryllis" is expected by late summer and a new single album is projected to drop in late April.

 

Soilwork singer Björn 'Speed' Strid says the band are proving more intense than ever as they record their tenth album. The new record is slated to come out later this year.

 

Coal Chamber's first new album since 2002's "Dark Days" has been given the title of "Rivals". Napalm Records have it slated for a May 19 North American release date.

 

Faith No More's highly anticipated new album, their first in 18 years, will be called "Sol Invictus"; the disc arrives on May 19 via Reclamation Recordings/Ipecac Recordings.

 

Bullet For My Valentine has announced that have parted ways with bass player Jason James. The Welsh rockers are currently in the studio working on their fifth studio set.

 

The Scorpions will release their eighteenth studio album, "Return To Forever", on February 23 in U.S. as they begin their 50th anniversary this year.

 

Deftones will will be recording their eighth album within the next few weeks.

 

Scott Weiland says his new project has more of an “indie rock” feel than anything he's worked on in the past. The former Stone Temple Pilots frontman's new group is called Scott Weiland And The Wildabouts, the band's debut album, "Blaster", will be out on March 31 via Softdrive Records following a successful PledgeMusic campaign.

 

Three Days Grace's new album, the first with new singer Matt Walst, will be titled "Human"; the disc will be launched on March 31.

 

 

JANUARY

 

Airbourne have signed to Spinefarm Records for their fourth album, which they aim to release later this year and the Australian outfit insist the deal secures their future for many years.

 

Falling In Reverse's third album is titled "Just Like You"; it is now available for pre-ordering and is set to be released February 24.

 

Adelitas Way will be releasing a new five track EP in March followed by a new full length this summer.

 

Stone Temple Pilots are working on new music with Chester Bennington.

 

Soulfly have begun work on their tenth album.
